A little hard work never hurt anyone.  I remember having to do my fair share during the summers at my grandparents.  I may have resented it a little then, but now I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to learn how to work hard.  It seems a lot harder to find ways to teach my kids the same values that were instilled in me those long, hot summers.  That is one of the reasons I liked seeing my kids so excited about doing the chores while visiting my grandparents this weekend.  They were learning again, from someone they really look up to (my grandpa) that work comes before play.   And they got to have a little fun at the same time, hopefully they can see that even work can be fun if you go at it with the right attitude.  And I relearned a lesson too, that things don't need to be done perfect, just give your best effort.
